A Bee’s Knees Official Partner

Emilie Dickinson faced a tough choice during the pandemic: watch the studio where she trained close its doors for good or take over the studio herself.

Having run a dance studio before, she knew how much work it would be, but she took a deep breath, said yes, and saved a space that so many people relied on for connection, creativity, and physical expression.

Like me, Emilie is a solopreneur, but times two; she runs Revel Movement and owns Pole Active! We send voice memos almost daily, and she's my "Bestie in the Westie." I couldn't be happier to have her and Revel Movement on board as a new Bee's Knees partner.

Inside Revel Movement

Revel Movement operates out of the largest dedicated movement space in Idaho’s Treasure Valley. Its layout is designed to support full class schedules and the in-between moments that make training feel comfortable.

Students enter through a welcoming waiting area with retail, changing area, and front desk check-in before moving into purpose-built training spaces. The Pole Room includes 11 poles total, with three at 10 feet and eight at 12 feet, plus floor-to-ceiling mirrors (which we pole dancers looooove).

The Aerial and Dance Room features six 12-foot rigging points and three 10-foot points and supports hammock, hoop, silks, and a range of dance classes, all in a mirrored space that works for both aerial and floor-based movement.

Emilie’s previous experience was in running a children’s dance studio, which is a different ballgame than running an adults-only dance space. She understands that as adults, we often put ourselves last. We're hesitant to make time for ourselves, or even worse, spend money on ourselves. All too often our lives, work, and endless to-do lists consume us, and our own needs and wants end up on the back burner again.

Revel Movement holds space and makes it easier to come back to movement without pressure or perfection and to enjoy it wantonly and wildly.

And if trying Bee's Knees Knee Pads has been on your endless to-do list, you can check that box when you're at Revel for a class because Bee's Knees will be there too.

Revel Movement + Bee’s Knees

Emilie and I met through a mutual connection right after she took over Pole Active. She was in the thick of learning Shopify, so we hopped on a call so I could help. We bonded fast.

Since then, we’ve shared small business wins and setbacks, half-baked ideas, office tours, and the occasional “tell me if this sounds unhinged.” We trade updates about life and family, laugh a lot, and troubleshoot in real time, usually while Emilie’s dog Jett tip-taps across the floor or loudly drinks water in the background for attention.

All through voice memos.

If you’re at Pole Con or some other event and see a tall aerialist and a short pole dancer hugging, laughing (Emilie), and crying (me), please understand that we just met IRL for the first time. It's going to be epic!

The way Emilie runs Revel and the plans she has for Pole Active closely mirror how I think about Bee’s Knees. We both care about making good things that are actually useful to the people who show up.

Classes at Revel celebrate all body types, skill levels, and interests, which directly aligns with Bee’s Knees’ core value of inclusion. Instruction comes from skilled teachers, including local strippers, who bring real experience, depth, and respect for the work into the room. That shared mindset is what makes this partnership feel easy and genuine.

Plan a Visit to Revel Movement

Revel Movement is located in Boise, Idaho and serves students throughout the Treasure Valley. Classes run throughout the week with daytime and evening options designed around adult schedules.

Parking and access are straightforward (thankfully), making it easy to get there regularly. Visit the website for the most up-to-date schedule, class descriptions, and studio information, and be sure to give them a follow on Instagram @revelmovementstudio too.

Want to Carry Bee’s Knees at Your Studio?

Bee’s Knees works with US-based studios that serve as real gathering places, not just rooms with equipment. You know, the important spaces. The spaces that, if they were to suddenly close, we'd jump in and save them because they mean that much to us and our people.

If your space is interested in carrying Bee’s Knees, apply here. I’d love to hear what makes your studio special and who shows up there.
